Life and Mana leech (reduced by 1/2, and only applies to the physical portion of the attack).Critical Strike and Deadly Strike (still only applies to the physical damage). Elemental and physical damage charms and gear.Normal attack damage (the values you see when you select the regular attack as your skill).Resistances still apply for each monster though." - Canight "Damage is rolled once (deadly strike included), but CB is rolled individually for each enemy hit in melee splash. The main target does not take splash damage. Ribcracker is good for any shifter Druid, as the drawbacks are reduced by his form.Melee splash is an instant AoE, with no Next Hit Delay, that damages all enemies 360° around the target. When compounded with the effect of powerful armor and even an aura such as Defiance, defense can be boosted to more than effective levels, giving physical fighters a modicum of safety as long as there are no opposing spellcasters. Ribcracker also offers a Faster Hit Recovery as well as a great boost to Defense, effectively doubling total character defense. It is a common misconception that Ribcracker is not useful because there is no such thing as a "Staff Mastery", but the Barbarian's Mace Mastery works with any blunt weapons, including staves, scepters, and wands it thus applies to Ribcracker. Monsters with sufficient Physical resistance, like Uniques with Stone Skin, may be more troublesome. Still, despite its bonuses, compared to other exceptional or elite unique weapons Ribcracker may be overshadowed. With enhanced damage, an impressive chance of Crushing Blow, and increased Attack Speed, Ribcracker is a powerful weapon and often upgraded to a Stalagmite for more raw physical damage (but it will decrease its weapon speed). Ribcracker is unusual compared to most staves in that it is meant for physical use rather than skill bonuses this is indicated by its unusually high damage and durability. Ribcracker is a unique exceptional Quarterstaff.
